Through my affiliation with my college musical fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, I frequently receive audition notices for both vocal and instrumental opportunities in the Kansas City metro area. As I receive them - I will post them here for your information.
These are often wonderful opportunities to learn and perform in a semi-professional setting, quite different from your high school experience. For that reason - should you decide to participate in them - you need to understand that a commitment to an opportunity OUTSIDE Odessa is very important to fulfill ALL required rehearsals, and to take responsibility for keeping yourself fully informed about times, dates and requirements. You'll need to provide transportation to get yourself to & from rehearsals in the KC area, and occasionally there may be small participation costs.
At the same time - your school commmitments are also extremely important, and need to take priority. So before you participate in auditions - make sure you have researched the time that will be required, discuss it with your parents so they are willing to help you with your commitment, and be sure to discuss it with Mr. Harvey, as he is best equipped to assist you with possible audition materials, or to recommend which opportunities might be best suited to your particular talents.
