Monday, May 10th (Rescheduled due to conference track on Tuesday, May 4th)

"GLEE LIVE!"  (Performing broadway and pop numbers from the hit show GLEE)
Monday, May 10th at 7:30PM in the OHS Auditorium
Admission: FREE, We will be taking a free will donation.

Show includes solos, small ensembles, large group numbers, dancing, and singing.  It will be a night of great entertainment!

All guys must be clean shaven on competition days!!!  NO STUBBLE!!!  Also hair will need to be cut, or they will be asked to slick back hair and use bobbie pins.

All members should only use unscented anti-perspirant/deodorant.  NO PERFUME OR COLOGNE SHOULD BE USED!!!

Everyone needs money for concession snacks, lunch, and dinner.  Also everyone should bring comfortable BUT NICE clothes for the rest of the day.

IN THE MORNING NO CAFFINE SHOULD BE CONSUMED!!!  WATER ONLY!  EAT BREAKFAST, BUT DO NOT OVER EAT!

Show Choir Information for Pleasant Hill Week

We will be taking a picture in our outfit Monday, January 18th during 2nd hour (8:30-9:30) for the Pleasant Hill program that they hand out to audience members.  Tights will not be in so I mentioned to the girls that if they have a pair of hose that makes the legs look tan they may want to bring those.  Women will also need their hair up and some make-up on (not on as heavy as for stage performance).  Men will need to make sure they bring their shirt, tie, pocket square, jacket, pants, black socks, and shoes.

The following is a run down of our practices next week and what everyone needs to bring!

Monday Evening's Practice (6:00-8:00) - They should bring their shoes

Tuesday Evening's Practice (5:30-7:00) - They should bring their shoes

Thursday Evening's Practice (5:30-7:00) - Bring Shoes, Girls wear tights under shorts, Guys wear black pants and shoes. (this is to get used to dancing in the tights and pants.)

Friday Evening's Practice (5:30-7:30) - FULL DRESS REHEARSAL with all uniform, hair, and makeup done and ready by 6:00 so if they need more than a half an hour to get ready they need to start earlier.

All Practices are in the Auditorium from now on!
 
They are doing a great job and we are going to surprise alot of people that don't know the vocal talent at OHS!!!  I'm very excited!!!  If you have any questions, please feel free to call or email me!  Just a reminder that we will have a concert here at OHS in the auditorium at 7PM on Thursday, February 4th.  It is free and open to the public!  Tell your friends, family, and neighbors!

Pleasant Hill “Battle of the Best” Itinerary
January 23rd, 2010

6:45 AM – Leave OHS (Any parents can follow behind on the bus and caravan if interested)

7:45 AM – Arrive at Pleasant Hill High School (1 Rooster Way, Pleasant Hill, MO 64080)

7:45-8:00 – Unload the bus (dresses, suits, etc.) to our “homeroom”

8:00 AM – Report to the Gym to watch Harrisonville (4A School)

8:30 AM – Report back to homeroom to get dressed and ready.  (Make-up, Hair, Etc.)

9:15 AM – Band, Crew and Any Parent Helpers take Lisa Addington’s Van to the loading zone to unload keyboard, set pieces, and risers.  Band and Crew members will meet us in the warm up room at 9:45 after helping unload. 

9:40 AM – Host meets us at our homeroom.

9:45 AM – Warmup Time (Location TBA)

10:05 AM – OHS Ovation Performs in the Gym

10:30 AM – After completed performance we will need to load everything off stage and back into Lisa Addington’s Van 

10:45 AM – Report back to gym to watch Hannibal (4A School)
AFTER HANNIBAL WE STAY IN THE GYM TO WATCH OTHER SCHOOLS IN OUR DIVISION AND SCHOOLS IN THE 5A DIVISION. 
12:45-1:20 we will meet in the commons and have lunch as a group.  (MAKE SURE YOU PURCHASE YOUR MEAL TICKET FROM MR. HARVEY BY MONDAY, JANUARY 18th)

1:40 PM – Report back to gym to watch the rest of 4A Division Choirs

4:30 PM – P-Hill Hillside Singers Perform as Exhibition and Awards are presented in the GYM (Finals will be announced at this time)

FINALS SCHEDULE IS BELOW (even if we do not make finals we will stay to watch and support)

Show Choir Outfits

Show Choir Dresses will be delivered on Monday, January 11th.  I need volunteers for Tuesday, January 12th to sew the straps onto the dresses.  I will also need a volunteer to come in during the day on Tuesday at some point to measure the straps of girls who will not be at the rehearsal Tuesday Night.

Show Choir Suits Came In on Monday, December 14th!!!  Once each male choir member has tried on all parts of the outfit it will be sent home.  Each uniform consists of the following...

Four Button Suit Jacket - Dry Clean Only
Suit Pants* - Cold Water Gentle Cycle Wash/ Dry on Low Heat Gentle Cycle
Red Silk Shirt - Cold Water Gentle Cycle Wash/ Dry on Low Heat Gently Cycle
Red Tie - Dry Clean Only
Red Pocket Square Insert - Spot Clean Only

When pressing any of the above please make sure your iron is set to the lowest temperature possible especially for the shirts as any high heat will melt the shiney fabric.

*Suit pants came unhemmed, the need to be hemmed by our January 12th Rehearsal!!!  Must be hemmed to fall about 1/2 inch from the floor with dance shoes on.  Please also cuff the hem.  If you are unsure please call or email Mr. Harvey for clarification!!!

Women's Dresses Are Scheduled to Ship on January 4th, so we should get them 2-3 business days after that. : )

Truman State Visits NOV. 6TH!

Friday, November 6, presents an exciting opportunity for our choral department as we host the Truman State University Show Choir.  The Truman State choir will perform their show for our choir and any parents that would like to join us.  Our Show Choir will perform a couple of pieces for the Truman State choir and staff, and they will provide feedback and suggestions.

 

We will provide lunch for the Truman State choir before they perform and ask our students to provide items as outlined below:
